As I'm sure many people with birthdays within days of Halloween understand, it can sometimes be annoying to always feel like you have to throw a costume party. After years of frustration attempting to put together dinners at trendy restaurants avoiding the obvious upcoming holiday (and leaving people not all that thrilled to be missing a costume party), I opted to go for a theme that's not too over the top, but keeping the Halloween spirit in mind. Day of the Dead or Dia de Los Muertos is the my favorite way to do this. With Mexican food, flower crows, face makeup, coupled with LOTS of tequila and Mexican food, its always a guaranteed blast. Below are some photos from this year's celebrations as well as many years past.
